Might be a little early to call any of those teams turnarounds, though - they've had 1 season. Technically Fisher did the same thing for the Titans, and put together a run of several years, which I'd say Reese is responsible for ending more than Fisher. Cower was in a very similar position a few years ago... and they made the right move to keep him - he gets a good base of players back in and wins a SB. I think Fisher has earned the right to say let's give him the next 2 years to do things his way and see how it goes.

I'm not talking about knowing the rules but adjusting the play-calling and personnel when what he has going on the field obviously isn't working.

McNair, every time he stepped on the field, gave the Titans the best chance to win. You'd go with Volek if McNair says he can go? Fisher was loyal, maybe to a fault, to McNair but there was little depth to go with as an option.

Maybe but I'm proving a point that just because you change coaches doesn't put you in a rebuilding stage and automatically mean your going to lose for the next couple of seasons.

Nothing against what you said you bring up a good point just proving to whoever said if we don't resign Fisher were not going to have a bunch of losing season while they rebuild.

    An interesting consideration....

Let's say Fisher doesn't return....I'm wondering how many potential coaching candidates there are with the flexibility and creativity to work with a QB like VY.

Look at what happened in Atlanta with Vick and Jim Mora; it appeared to be a great fit at the time....but three years later, Vick has become a pariah, and Mora has gotten himself fired. (In all fairness, both guys have played a significant role in their own failures....but they didn't exactly help each other out, either.)

In spite of all the great things we've seen from him thus far, Vince is still very much a work in progress....and I'm afraid a lot of coaches are so dedicated to their own philosophies, they wouldn't know exactly what to do with him, and could ultimately do him more harm than good. Trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, so to speak.

It's an awfully big risk to take.

I was watch the NFL Network this morning and Fisher's name, once again, was listed in a debate for the BEST coach in the NFL. They pointed to last season and how the Titans got so much out of Young.

He gets a ton of national respect.
