    1. Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri
To me he is a special pass rusher, the best in the draft in my eyes. His frame can easily put on 10 to 15 pounds and still retain his quickness and speed. Seems really smart and coach-able. A former basketball player, he really knows how to get around people, uses that knowledge well. Very driven and hates to be off the field... played just three weeks after breaking his leg last season. Hobbled the rest of the year but still had a good season. I grade him higher than Bowers and Quinn due to medical reasons; Bowers may have arthritic knees and Quinn overcame a brain tumor.

    2. Andy Dalton, QB, TCU
Probably my favorite QB in this draft. I think he will be on the board when we pick here too; unlike Ponder, Mallet and Locker. Extremely accurate, which is the most important attribute to me, a four year starter and 42 game winner! Good size and arm strength, and a team leader. I feel he will be the best QB in this years draft down the road.

    3. Drake Nevis, DT, LSU
Seems like a perfect fit for our 4-3. Good enough size, very low center of gravity, plays with good leverage. Strong at the point of attack and is a good at getting to the backfield. He seems like the kind of guy that can be coached up to become an even better pass rusher.

    4. Casey Matthews, LB, Oregon
What he lacks in speed and size he makes up for with instincts. The guy is always around the ball and has a very high football IQ. And he's a Matthews. If he bulks up a bit he can play inside, as is now, he can kick outside until he's ready to play MLB.

    4. (comp) Taiwan Jones, RB, Eastern Washington
A true backup to CJ and would make an amazing starter if CJ ever went down; unlike Ringer or Johnson. A true home run hitter with sub 4.4 speed. Was injured last year so he hasn't worked out at all so his stock is falling a bit. This is great news, since we can grab him in the 4th round. The run at 3:42 is just crazy.

    5. Brandon Fusco, C, Slippery Rock
Division 2 stud. Won the D2 lineman of the year award and was 2nd runner up the year before. Was actually the offensive MVP of the team and looks like a highly underrated prospect to me. Looked very good at the Senior Bowl and should provide some really good competition at the center spot, hopefully surpassing Harris/Amano.

    6. Henry Hynoski, FB, Pittsburgh
An awesome fullback, just pummels people, loooove this guy. Sarge is getting old and, let's face it, it's starting to show. We need to mentor someone now especially one who could be instrumental in CJ's success going forward. His highlight tape is just awesome, can play an H-back as well.

    7. Chris Prosinski, S, Wyoming
Total sleeper prospect at safety here. Most likely a free safety in the NFL, but if he pans out, I think Griff may be a better fit a strong safety anyway. Ultra productive and ran a 4.4 at his pro day. Has all the physical tools to make it, I just hope he lasts this long.

    7. (comp) Collin Franklin, TE, Iowa State
Another sleeper prospect. Assuming Scaife is not re-signed (fingers crossed) we need another TE. Ran a 4.69 at his pro day and looks like an extremely fluid receiver. Looks like a fair blocker but has the size and strength (28 reps) to become even better. Imagine what a three TE package could look like with Stevens, Cook and Franklin rockin' at the same time!

Couple of sleepers there. I really like Aldon Smith, but at #8, I would rather have Quinn (if he's still there). I don't see Nevis falling out of the second (despite his size), and someone will overdraft Casey Matthews. Taiwan Jones is one of my personal favorites, and people will see why this Thursday. Fusco is also under the radar, but I doubt he lasts until the fifth. Overall, really good players, but maybe a little optimistic on where some of them will be drafted.

Off topic but that red field at eastern Washington is awesome.

Taiwan Jones was tearing it up.

Maybe but I think these projections are pretty realistic honestly. Again, the suspension and brain tumor drops Quinn behind Smith. Not only that, but I think Quinn is gone before 8. Nevis could very well be there at the top of the 3rd, remember, he projects as only a 4-3 DT and half the teams run a 3-4. Yeah, I'm loving this draft chock full of sleepers :).

Ehhh, not in love with the draft.

Aldon Smith is a reach at #8, IMO. Gray already said he wants to beef up the D-Line, why would he draft a 260lb DE. A DE that has average speed, below average strength, and average size (according to combine stats). I just think he's not worth the #8 pick. I'm ok with Rd2 & Rd3, not in love with Dalton though. I also don't love Casey Matthews, if it wasn't for his last name, he wouldn't be projected this early IMO. I'd be alright with Jones, although I'd rather have a power #2 back.

Smith could easily put on another 15 pounds in a year or two and get much stronger. A DE in the 275 range is pretty perfect for a 4-3... it's Morgans size currently. I don't think he's a reach due to the other top DE's medical concerns, I don't want a guy with arthritic knees or one who has had a brain tumor and has been suspended for a season.

Casey Matthews would be a very solid pick in the 4th round; any higher and he's probably a bit of a reach but in the 4th he's a pretty good value.

We don't need a power back dude, they are so overrated in today's NFL. If we pick up Hynoski he could serve as a very good short yardage back if need be. Power backs are a dime a dozen in later rounds anyway or as free agents.

How do you know he can just put on 15 pounds in a year? That's pure speculation. I'm not saying he's small, but he's just average. I guess we're beefing up our DEs to like 275+.

One thing I do love about him.. he's 20 years old. Plenty of room to improve.

Why would we carry two FBs on our roster?

I heard Mayock talk about him adding weight, and that he has the type of frame that can accommodate more weight w/o him losing quickness. I think Mayock is the best evaluator out there, certainly better than me.

Sarge is 31 and frankly, I don't think he played that great last season. You carry two fullbacks in case of injury, the odd man out should be playing special teams so I don't see it as a waste of a roster spot.

He ran the forty-yard dash between 4.32 - 4.35 seconds today. Not much of a sleeper anymore.
