looked at the money they signed for vs what the Titans paid Smith..big difference. If those guys would have signed for Smith's price they would still be here

smith had no upper hand. he was cut one week before the season. he's using this year as a tryout. if(when) he plays like he did while he was here the first time he will make the big bucks...again.

we got him at a bargin basement price. The Texans could have resigned him for a little more money if they had wanted him. Maybe they saw something in him and that is why they didn't want him back

No they couldn't. If they had approached Smith with a new contract he would have demanded the money he thought was fair, or just play out this year of his contract. Instead they cut him and we could get him to accept a lesser deal.

Part of the reason they cut him was the cap but also the new head coach rated a younger guy ahead of him in camp. Kubiak is putting his own stamp on their team & Smith was earning too much money to be a back up.

Smith chose to come here because he still has love for the team. He said that we didn't cut him he left as a free agent. He's hoping to have a big year & earn another big contract be it here or where ever.

TitanBouy is right in that his best position is at tackle on a 4-3 line but he still put up his best career numbers in Houston at DE on a 3-4 line last season.
