This is getting old. Goodell needs to go away. He jumped offsides and ran into the quarterback wow. People are getting flagged for regular penalties. Leave it on the field.

My own opinion is that because the qb was still under center, he could have pulled back and not hit him. I think the 15 yards was enuff tho'. The fine is pretty useless.

Did it not seem to you guys as if there was an extra push with his arm to shove Rivers? That's what it looked like to me. I have no issue with the fine. That $5,000 is a fraction of his game check. The man is a millionaire and on the cusp of a ginormous payday so if he is drawing fines for personals, so what? He should have thought about that before the whole head stomp thing. We all know that episode is why he receives the extra scrutiny. IMO, Albert has earned his place under the microscope. He's still the best DT in football. All the fines in the world won't change that. Consider the upside though. In the future he may not make his transgressions appear so flagrant. I want to emphasize that it looked as if he made extra effort to shove Rivers which is a whole lot more than just simply encroachment.

God-ell is a joke. Talk about a power hungry S.O.B. Rivers drew Albert offsides..how can a guy stop any quicker ? Besides...why didn't the center try to protect Rivers ? He could have moved at that point !

He clearly gave a little extra once he knew he was already getting flagged.
We knew he'd get fined for it too, so saying it was undeserved is wrong.

It's no wonder Haynesworth played so well for his contract, dude spends all his money on fines.

That play show how quick the big guy really is. That was awesome.

And I think the flag should have been thrown, no at the time but looking back yea, but he shouldn't have been fined. Had it been anyone else they wouldn't have been fined... of course thats probably why Goodell made that decision in the first place.

What's $5000 when you got $10M a year coming. It was worth it just to get a hit in on that jerk rivers.
