how Many WR's do we keep on the roster?
Here we go again.... another VY excuse......
Go get a life....
Bottom line is the article was about nothing. If you suck in camp and get beat out you will get cut. We drafted a guy in the 3rd round and aother later so someone on the roster before is gone...Gee, haven't seen that before. Then the old poor VY starts up again....is there anyway to shut that crap out...I'm tired of reading crap like that.
i like hawkins and think he has potential but he reads the defenses wrong and runs the wrong routes alot which have lead to a couple of vy int's
ive noticed goin to games that vy and hawkins get along real good and are always talkin to each other so hopefully since vy is applying himself this year he will pull hawkins along with him so they can get on the same page
This whole WR issue is the classic Titans "patching of a leaky dam with bubble gum". The reason why we have Gage and Washington basically as starters is because they were unrestricted free agents and came cheap. I'm not sure on what planet Gage and Washington would be legit starters, certainly not Earth. Britt should start and Hawk should be first off the bench and in 3 wides. I'd love to see Williams get that 2nd starting WR spot, but the odds in that are long. When Dez Bryant was still on the board I had a gut feeling we'd snatch him up, but I'm not surprised we took the safe route as usual. Time will tell, but I think it was a mistake to pass on Bryant at 16. Imagine Britt and Bryant starting with Hawk as the 3rd, sounds pretty nice to me. Morgan could be great but Bryant was a top 5 talent... and you don't often get a chance to get a player like that at 16.
I would think more like 6-7 because of injury issues.
I assume you're including PS with that estimate of 7? No need to hang onto so much dead weight at WR. With the acquisition of two WRs in the draft, they're basically saying - we need to upgrade.
I don't even know why we're still discussing Paul Williams. He is as much of a bust as you can get in the third round. End of discussion. It's mind boggling that he is even still on our team.
It's no secret that I'm partial to Hawkins (since when did he have a bandwagon, though? For crying out loud, I thought I was unique) for stupid reasons like he has a cool name and I like him for helping us in the Cardinals game. When it all comes down to it, a WR with 14 career catches in two seasons is basically nothing.
The only reason the 'battle for survival' for Williams/Hawk is being discussed is because of the overall futility of our receiving corp. I will never forgive the front office for passing on Steve Breaston. (I am allowed to say this, because I saw one college game he was in, and he was good. Haha college football expert!!)
Yea, I was including practice squad players. My bad.
Hawkins wont be cut, he will be on the depth chart.
Hawkins said Heimerdinger has stopped cussing and yelling at him in OTA's this year and is now coaching him.
Think Hershal Walker trade.
We should get about 6 draft picks and a couple players
