I went to see my parents and I ended up looking through some old football cards from my old bedroom closet. 1990 Pro Set, so of course the latest stats were from the '89 season. A couple of Philadelphia Eagles cards stuck out to me.

Clyde Simmons, DE: 133 tackles, 15.5 sacks
Reggie White, DE: 123 tackles, 11 sacks
Jerome Brown, DT: 117 tackles, 10.5 sacks
Mike Pitts, DT: 110 tackles, 7 sacks

It is almost unheard of for DL guys to get more than about 70 or 80 tackles today. What gives?

Different game. Back then you ran 40 times a game, now you pass 60 times.

The MLB Evans had like 184 tackles and Andre Waters had like 140 tackles.

Maybe the Eagles sucked really badly.
