Maybe so. I'm not a big believer in the defenless thing......except for when the go for the head.
I guess I'm thinking of this in the Harrison hit on McCoy terms.
That was intentional.

 

How did the announcer describe the play? He said "it looked like McCoy was going to run and then at the last second he threw it".

So then a linebacker in that situation is supposed to wait for the QB to actually gain yardage to be convinced he is going to run? Then of course the QB and nobody else has the option of the slide.


It's not that Harrison is a classy guy he is a jerk. Just like warren Sapp when he threw that block on Kyle Clifton. And just like some of Hines Ward's blocks. But were they illegal? Would you kick Ward out of the league for coming off one block and knocking Ed reed out? No but it was a jerk thing to do.

Did Jack Lambert go easy on people and act like a gentleman?

This is the nfl not the nba. We already protect the Qbs like royalty and the norm now is to line up with 3-4 Wrs and throw the ball 40 times.

He had a couple of steps to aim lower, but I feel ya.

A ban is not necessary. I like the suspension though. The guy from the Jets who hit Boldin that time got 1 game......and he had no history of those penalties, hits, no flags, no fines. Happened once and he got 1 game. Harrison has a history and flaunted it in some ways by complaining, threatening to retire, saying he wouldn't change, called Godell names, multiple flags and fines, etc...
So I get the suspension.....even if it was 2 or 3 games.

 

No, he just not supposed to launch himself directly at the other players head. Look at how Tracy Porter lit up Locker for a textbook example of what Harrison should have done.
