We just zombied through a horrendous Hall of Fame game broadcast that was all about everything but the game! The announcers used their melodious voices for odious pronouncements about whatever suited them. From time to time they would announce "Oh, by the way something happened on the field." Followed by a couple of seconds of mentioning names of players involved but nothing about the play. The cameras spent more time focusing on their cherubic faces :clown: than on the turf action.

We joined the game about the second quarter and although they talked about it, they didn't even reshow one of the 2 game highlights, the Fisher punt play. :grrr: At least they did of the awe inspiring catch by Sir P. Williams. Congrats! Way to go Paul! (We once were Fresno St Bulldogs and you have made us mighty proud).

We indignantly watched the game that was not a game, but a mere background for the talking idiots. :p In our kingdom, such buffoonery would end with each idiot head being separated from their gullet and roasted over a blazing fire of cow patties.:flamer:

We had hoped for a rousing game of "My third string is better than yours!" but what we got was NBC (Not Brain Conscious)!!

Thus sayeth Your Most Royal Highness, King Titan, Leader of the Titan World, Righter of Wrongs.

I ended up turning the sound down on the TV and listening to the radio announcers. It was disconcerting to hear about the plays from Mike Keith and Frank Wycheck before seeing them, but it was still better than hearing about everything but the game from the NBC gang.

It's the preseason. Only Titans and Bills fans actually cared about the game- and many of them didn't care THAT much.

Not as if they were going to get serious once the score became close, as if anyone cared.

We see Sir Deuce, by your heraldic shield, that you are of noble lineage! It is an honor to speak to you! We, like you, did not care that much, but we would have liked to see the newbies on the team fly around a little bit. Not endless ramblings of the skybox heads.

first of all it was just a preseason game and there weren't really any big plays to show repeat replays of except the fake punt which they did show replays of......maybe you missed since you tuned it late.

The silly thing is that the only people who kept watching the game into the 3rd & 4th quarters are the Titans and Bills fans that WANT to see how some of these backups and rookies are progressing. The SNF crew were pandering to an audience that had long changed channels or drifted off into a lazy sleep induced by the commentary in the 1st half.

My suggestion - in the future the commentators should have their 2nd and 3rd string crew put in during preseason as well. Heck, put the cheerleaders in the booth - they'd be able to point out more than what we got, and they'd look better doing it.

I heard Collingsworth leave some dead air a couple of times...Micheals bailed him out once by talking about the hash marks.. "Just wanted to see if you were paying attention!"

I think they were doing fine. Much better than the MNF cast the past few seasons. At least this crew knows our 3rd stringers' names. Kornheiser called Bo Scaife "Ben Scaife" and I swear to God He called Jacques Reeves "Jackass Reeves" once. Honestly.

I wasn't expecting much from commentators in a game as meaningless as this. I was expecting a lot of hoopla regarding McNair, some Vick talk, etc. Because the game itself is a glorified practice.

But It was the most exciting preseason game I've seen. And I've been to plenty of them live. I wish more coaches would pull out all the stops, excluding onside kicks, both sides should have equal opportunity to look at Offense and Defense, but I like the trickery, and just having fun. I'm really happy that fisher went with something other than vanilla for once.
