    guitar hero will get you into some bad habits if you play real guitar. it took my a while to stop using all down strums when i played real guitar because that's what i did when i play GH.

    I heard that before playing GH and was a little apprehensive, but a solid two weeks of GH didn't have any negative effects on real guitar for me. I mix up downstrokes and up and downstrokes depending on the song anyway. The thing that was weird for me about GH was the timing of strumming being different than it would be if you were playing the same song on real guitar.
