Online sucks because I don't have friends
Considering GTAV is always a top 10 seller - literally I don't think I've ever seen it out of the top 10 - why would they?
85 million copies apparently. And still selling. Why cut off your income?
Going five years without a new game is a problem. When most major studios adopt the "games as a service" model it will stagnate the market totally.
Enjoy annual installments of sports games and playing the same open world multi player/looter shooter game for the duration of a console's lifecycle.
that would be fantastic if they kept it updated with fresh stuff
That would be awful. You'd be spending more money for less content.
you wouldnt have to spend any extra money and they would be constantly adding new content for years, like gta does now
You'd be totally at the mercy of the developers. The used game market would dry up. The majority of the game's content would be digital, which means they can charge as much as they want for whatever they want.
You no longer "own" the majority of the game's content. You pay for the right to play it, which means if you lose access to your PSN/Xbox Live account all of that content that you paid for is gone forever.
that's fine i download all my games anyways, and who doesnt get xbox live/psn? i say go for it
It's not whether you don't "have" those services. It's if you lose access to the accounts.
Either service can change the terms of service and cancel your subscription at any time. I know @RavensShallBurn had his account cancelled because of a username issue. Trophies/accomplishments, downloads, everything gone.
i'll take my chances
