Grade the 2019 NFL Draft for the Titans

I give it a B+

Would've easily be an A if Simmons was available to play this coming year.

That AJ Brown pick at #51 really set this draft over the top.

Liked all the picks, but I'll have to warm up a bit to the Hooker selection.

No emotion to Long considering he will probably just be a special teams ace.

 

If you buy into the NFL comps, we just acquired Ndamukong Suh, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Dee Ford. So we didn't do too poorly

 

Simmons. A. Just because we have to wait
Brown A+ Once considered the best WR in this class
Davis B+ Seemed like a bit of a reach. Cowboys may have been interested though.
Hooker B Good value pick. Not sure how he helps the team.
Walker A+ Absolute steal. Should see a pretty decent share of snaps this year.
Long. B. Likely special teams contributor. May eventually work into LB rotation. For a 6th, this is fine.

Overall A-

 

zero chance at an A of any sort taking a cripple who will not contribute in 2019 first round

 

Why is Davis being described as a reach? I've seen him ranked as high as 70 in prospect lists prior to the draft.

 

I saw him mostly 90 - 110. A B+ is still good right? If we took him a round too early it would be a C or D.

 

Hooker getting too much scepticism on here. He looks decent.

Theme overall seemed to be talent rather than need yet we still filled key gaps.
A-grade draft class on paper for me.

Let’s hope it pans out on the field. Titan up!
