been out of town quite a bit this year, but getting back in the groove in preparation for TC and the season.

I have a ton of unknowns about us this year, but will be reading old posts to get caught up.

the one thing that jumped out today is that somehow we are without a running backs coach. That punk kiffin did something to our State again??

Soooo why wasn't CJ a first overall pick...Clearly our coaching helped him in someway.

Our scouts were the only ones smart enough to see what this kid was capable of. Our coaches probably had little if anything to do with his success, we were just the first team who thought he was good enough to be picked in our draft slot. CJ would have/will be a superstar regardless of where he plays.

Probably true, and I agree. However, you can't say our O-Line didn't have a large part in his success. I'd say his production would be close to the same in five places. ATL, NYG, NYJ, DAL, and MIN. Maybe Miami too, so say six places.

Put CJ on the Raiders, he won't be a superstar.

Baloney. He'd be a superstar on a crappy team. Like Stephen Jackson. Like Calvin Johnson. You see plenty of examples of elite athletes on crappy teams. Hell, CJ was a great example of that last year. Our team loses 6 strait, yet he records 600 rushing yards 120 yards receiving with a couple touchdowns. Good players don't have to be on good teams. Our OLine absolutely was a huge contributor, no doubt. They're badasses and a big part of the reason he got 2000 yards last year. That's not to say he wouldn't put up elite numbers regardless of where he played though, because he would.

Stephen Jackson has as much ability as CJ, yet a lot of casual football fans wouldn't know his name, everyone knows CJ. Put CJ on the Rams and he's a no one, I promise you.

Calvin Johnson may be the most talented receiver ever coming out of college, and he still struggles to maintain a following in Detroit.

So because our team was 0-6 that means the offensive line wasn't a huge factor in the first 6 games? CJ gets to run behind a top 3 oline in football, it's the most important factor in his success right now. Put him on a team with a average to bad oline and his numbers are good at best.

Showed no real ability in college to run between the tackles, needed to put on more weight, become stronger to be a capable every down running back and competition quality we're pretty much the main reasons why he wasn't first, or top 20.

So the Titans didn't coach him to run between the tackles? It wasn't the training he did with the Titans that made him put on weight? I'm not saying he should be a first overall pick, mainly because he needed the coaching to become a great back.
