    The stat that stands out to me is the 31 more touchdowns that Steve. Considering how abysmal the team was under Whisenhunt and that he has been sacked almost twice as many times this speaks volumes. My takeaway on this is that Steve's teams during those first 4 years were building much like we are now. What are your thoughts?

    Pretty bad you have to compare him to a 1995 QB in a Jeff Fisher offense in order to make him look good

    Well this could turn into a VY, Locker thread and the first 4 years of McNair. Mariota is better than all of them.

    You could also add the guys never expected to be starter, mett, Collins, Hasselbeck, Fitzpatrick, Mauck, O’Donnell, who else am I missing that Mariota is better than?

    In todays league, probably so. But he also would have likely passed for a ton more yards and touchdowns with the rules are. His game would have translated very well to the systems used today.
