Wonder how VY is going to take this knowing that no matter how good of a training camp he has,as long as Collins doesnt screw up or gets hurt, he's going to have to except the fact that hes going to be the backup.

I think you've read into that a little too much.

All he is saying (my view) is Kerry is the starter and Vince is the back up and it might change pending on training camp and pre-season.

So let me get this right....If VY has a spectacular pre-season and Collins sucks big time VY might get to start.....Wow, now that is insightful!.....

Hypothetically anything is possible. Heck VY could find his balls and Collins could step on a land mine..... anything is possible.

I actually saw nothing in the quote dissing VY in anyway. What Fisher is probably doing is trying to keep himself out of a Cutler situation, but there is no way he can avoid it, VY has to go by next year because the iceburg is heading straight for the Titantic, and the wealthiest people must get off the boat first, and into a lifeboat.

If the status quo remians the same (Collins starts all year and VY backs him up), the Titans will attempt to renegotiate VY's contract...pushing the big money back a year and give him incentives to make it IF he can beat Collins out the following year. That would give the Titans an additional year and off-season to give him a shot.

If VY refuses, he's gonna be in for a rude awakening. Then he'll simply have that off-season to prove his worth. If Collins plays well next season and doesn't retire, it's unlikely VY unseats him. If he doesn't renegotiate and doesn't beat out Collins, the Titans will attempt to trade him...but will end up cutting him. Then they draft a QB to groom or continue grooming one from this draft. Or, they look to grab a Carr or similar QB.

The Titans are not in bad shape but IF VY doesn't work his rear off and make big strides and redo his contract to work himself into being the starter after Collins goes...he's gone. However, there is always the possibility Collins could get hurt and VY is pressed into service...in which case he'll either improve on the field or he won't.
