Newton is either a boom or bust player. I don't see being a good quarterback but I do see him being either a great quarterback or a horrible quarterback. I think it is just a question of which he will be and is it worth the gamble. When I see Newton I am reminded of what I saw in Vince Young while he was in college, a kid with all of the potential in the world.

If the Titans do take a chance on Newton I think they have to bring in McNabb. Newton is a raw QB technique wise but any decent QB coach can give him the skills he needs to be an NFL QB but McNabb can bring something unique to Newton's development, a role model. Newton would sit 2-3 years under McNabb and learn the things that Young never did. He would watch McNabb practice and study film but more importantly he would learn how to be a professional football player. He would study McNabb addressing the media, how to McNabb leads the team, and how McNabb handles offseason preparation.

I believe to this day that had McNair been a Titans for the first few years of Vince Young's career that Young would be on his way to become the QB we all know he has the potential to be. McNabb would do the same for Newton.
