Fellas, come in, sit down, discuss....

Mrs.---know you asked for the fellas input but coundn't help putting in my two cents here---as female engineer i've had to deal with same issue. when was in college and just dating my man I had to explain to him very bluntly--i don't know any girls--i study with guys, we're pals. You have to make it very clear that you've chosen these guys as friend and chosen HIM as your man. Then you have to make sure you treat those guy friends as friends. Men have tiny brains and if you flirt or make suggestive remarks their other brain gets inthe act and can spoil a good thing. This has served me well in male-dominated workplace .

 

It's amusing girls can't have guy friends but a guy can have girl friends.

 

It's called a BS filter. If a guy has been with a girl for many amount of time they have to develop one or they will go nuts.

 

'Why is it that women can say things like "My girlfriend and I are going out to brunch," and no one assumes anything? But, as soon as I say "My boyfriend and I are going shopping for fanny packs," everyone thinks I'm a gay?'

 

I prefer bourbon or champaigne... but yes I do
