I'm into more of the old school war movies like Midway, Tora Tora Tora, and Bridge Over The River Kwai. Where Eagles Dare is a really good one too.

    Saving Private Ryan was great.

I don't think it counts, but Band of Brothers is the greatest war show ever.

If you could movies set in war time, Life is Beautiful would be my #1

If you could movies specially about the war/fighting etc, probably Blackhawk Down (but I haven't seen too many war movies).

Good point. If we are talking Civil War than Glory takes the whole enchilada. Such a great movie.

My stepfather and uncle both served 3 tours in vietnam. My stepfather was in the army and uncle was Recon in the marines. Both said there has been nothing closer to the truth than Band of Brothers. My father served on the U.S.S. Forestal and was on board when the fires happened. He was on the cover of Time/Life magazine.
