South Park puts humour on current issues.
Kramer and his tirade. Scientology. David Blane, how what's his name 'talks to dead people' etc etc.

Family Guy is nothing but cheap laughs.

But you're ok with a dog who wants to have sex with Lois, and a sadistic baby who is possibly gay?

and Family Guy has never made light of Jesus?

So when SP does it, it is humor on current issues; but when Family guy does it, it is cheap laughs. How hard is it to exaggerate a current even? Seems like the same cheap laugh (all but written by the media) taken to another level.

a dog wanting to have sex is funny, a gay baby, thats iceing on the cake, and no family guy has never made fun of jesus. why? because in that show they are actually christian themselves..

When does Family Guy ever tackle current issues as a whole?

I'm not sure there is a real need in a comical setting to take on serious issues. Seems to make light of them. Yes we need that at time but it has always been and always will be over done.

And how is it not original to take on things like childrens TV and how they brain wash children into thing the world in gum drops and ice cream and how they are eventually faced with the reality that life is not like that. Or maybe the Dog being sent away from home (adoption?) later to look up his biological mother. How about the episode where the baby meets his half brother who was created through artificial insemination?

The list could go one but most people watch Family Guy and get a kick out of it not noticing the back story that makes puts the family in the situation they are in.
