    Nobody sent threats to Downing. It's just a defense strategy to lessen whatever blow may come his way.

    Calls the best game of the season and all of a sudden someone is threatening him? Lol riiiiight.

    I think it’s very possible he’s received threats but it doesn’t justify anything.

    The Titans and the NFL will likely wait until everything plays out before doing anything. I don’t see him losing his job over this but he may be suspended 1-3 games.

    What I fear is he got drunk on the plane and the NFL punishes the Titans by taking away a draft pick.

    Downing has money, easy to sweep a DUI under the rug... And you can't convince me there aren't a number of NFL players/coaches consuming alcohol on plane trips.

    Also from what I've read it says the NFL forbids teams providing alcohol or drinking on the plane...doesn't say they can't get hammered at the airport?

    Do y'all really think football fans wouldn't make threats towards Downing? Now is that the reason he was drunk and speeding? No. Stupid excuse... But probably has/is happening to him.

    Hell I wouldn't put it past a few on this very forum sending death threats to Downing... And there's even wilder "fans" out there.
