We don't need any WR changes except for possibly drafting Jarrett.

An "average" starter doesn't lead the team in receptions each year. With Bennett you have a known commodity, with anyone you draft its a crapshoot. If Givens can't cut it, then we are really in trouble. Just remember Wade and Jones are getting open because of the coverage on Drew. He runs correct routes, and understands the offense. When Vince starts throwing better, you will see much more production from him. Drafting or acquiring a WR isn't going to fix Vince's problems.

Prove it. Nevermind, I know it's just another opinion that you can't prove, yet you state as fact.

Yes, Bennett is an average starter....unless you're a Bennett homer.
  5. He does if you don't have any other WRs that qualify as average starters...

So you are suggesting we should have kept McNair and passed on Young?

I have been very clear on my thinking with Bennett. There are only so many ways to say it. He's a solid WR but not worth overpaying for. He's not a great player. If he will sign for a reasonable price, then fine. If not, the let him go and move on.

I agree with not overpaying for Bennett. How much would be too much to keep him?

if he wants the type of money givens' got last year, adios.

To add clearity we need to point out that because we over paid Givens we can't keep Bennett. Otherwise a Givens like contract would not be out of the question for Bennett. The Givens signing scewed us from keeping Bennett.
