Dre Bly?

I would say no thanks to Bly. I am sure he would be looking for a contract extension past the 1 year left on his deal. I would much rather spend that money on Clements or Samuel if we are gonna go that route.

 

Clements or Samuel are going to demand over 2X what Bly would get. He might be a decent option if his salary demands past next year are reasonable. It is always nice to get younger guys but we have so many what we are going to see in a few years is a bunch of guys looking for long term extensions to stay that pay big bucks (pacman). It is also nice to have some older vet guys on the team if they can still play.

 

Dre would be a great #2 CB, which is what we need. We don't need Samuel or Clements who are both elite #1 guys.

 

I'm a part-time lions fan , and Dre is far better than Reynaldo. With the right offer, i'd be happy about it both ways.

 

We've got an extra 4th rounder, I think it would be worth it to have better depth at QB, and less expensive that the other two...

 

That must be tough to admit.

 

Bly for one year?

His contract with the lions is for 5 years and was signed march 2003. That only gives him one year left so we better not give up too much. Maybe a trade would be conditional that we can sign him to a new deal.

 

No harder than admitting to be a titan fan really. At least the last few years or so. Not sure which team is worse.
