Spoke too soon. That would be a helluva draft.
Many have us trading out for a second and a fifth pick. Most mock drafts have Jake Fromm going early in the second....do we take him as backup to Tanny? We basically can fill DL, OT, CB with our remaining picks.
Trading out of the 1st into the early 2nd should net us a 3rd round pick at least. Not just a 5th.
B/R suggests this trade which I would take:
Titans Trade Round 1 Pick in 2020 (No. 29 Overall) to Cleveland Browns for Round 2 Pick in 2020 (No. 41 Overall), Round 3 Pick in 2020 (No. 74 Overall) and Round 5 Pick in 2021.
I was thinking our first for a second and 4th or 5th pick.
Here's my mock using only players we have visited with:
1.29 CB Damon Arnette
2.29 DL Marlon Davidson
3.29 RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn
5.14 ED Alton Robinson
7.01 CB Amik Robertson
7.13 WR Malcolm Perry
7.19 DL Alex Highsmith
Upgrade at OG and CB and a kicker and 2 future 3rds and depth on the lines.Every other need can be met with cheap free agents. Would love th iui s draft.
I think the best available player at 29 will be Jones....I cant see JR or Vrabel taking a CB at 29, simply because we can get the same quality in round 2. Jones is too good to pass up, especially when we have a void at tackle.
I could see that happening depending on how the draft falls... Jones is actually my 2nd highest tackle on my board....I just think in todays NFL his light feet give him an edge in my book over Wills, Becton, Thomas.....but I won't complain if we decide to take one of the OTs because of the value.
Did a mock draft, and if it falls like this I would gladly take it.
Did Robertson get a sexual assault charge today or something?
