Downing Replacement

Saffold is not that good. He wasn't bad either, more like average to slightly above average overall. He's still solid in the run game, but he isn't particularly good in pass coverage anymore. If he's willing to take a huge pay cut, I wouldn't mind having him back for continuity purposes. My gut feeling is that we will likely move on.

retaining a PSL at this point is just muscle memory and baseless faith

I posted earlier about how the 4th and 1 run was tipped off by Firkser but this seems more like a tell on Downing’s tendencies to run this particular play.

Pathetic and embarrassing

 

Vrabel would never do but Joe Brady is a great play caller. Carolina screwed up firing him, the injuries got them and head coach is awful. Huge upgrade of Downing but that is not saying much. Fact Raiders and Titans offense both got worse when he took over.

I would love to see what Brady could do with our talent. He OC LSU and also coached with saints and Peyton

 

Update: still, no one has requested an interview with Downing for their open HC position.
