    Just an interesting Observation...

Dungy has had comparable players in the position that Haynesworth was in.

Warren Sapp (DT) for the Bucs and Dwight Freeney (DE) w/ the Colts

Here is a sure fire way of never being beat: have corners that can anticipate tendencies, also cover in man, and guys who can bump and run. Then add in a Freeney/Peppers type to scare the QB. Even with that Cecil can call a good game.

We have neither. We have a slooooooow Vanden Bosch, and an okay at best inside push from Tony/Jovan/Jason/Sen'D and a missing LDE. Hard to win with that.

Let's talk about KVBs motor. Does it need oil? Has he run out of Gas?

Maybe he's not using 93 octane anymore. The lower octane gas will cause a high performance engine to sputter and knock. :ha:

KVB has always been a push to the outside of the pocket and get back to the QB guy. If the pocket collapses and the QB is forced to drop back as it was last season when AH was breaking the pocket he excels. Without that he is not that good of a D rusher. It takes him way to long to get to the QB if the guy can step into the pocket and make his reads.

I have said this in the past. He will probably get a ton of money this off season and unless he goes to a team with a top level DT/NT he will be a waist of money.

Good defenses, like the Steelers and Pats, use largely the same scheme over the years because they're designed to be so flexible in nature. They're designed to adapt to take advantage of the offense's weaknesses on a per game and even per series basis. Ours doesn't, and besides that, it requires Pro Bowl talent primarily throughout the defensive line, and then the secondary, so a scheme that worked last year isn't working this year.

What I'm saying is that if we had a scheme like the Steelers and Pats in years past, we would have won a SB by now IMO. What we're going through right now just exposes how bad the scheme really is.
