He's right. Most humans were damn near vegan for most of human history. That was because of poverty, not choice. They maybe got a piece of meat on holidays if they were lucky.

They also had much shorter lifespans and were much smaller than modern man. Coincidence? I think not.

Being "Vegan" is only possible with agriculture, it is pretty much impossible as a hunter-gatherer society. and there was thousands of years of human life before the advent of agriculture.

Even then, hunter-gatherer societies and nomad herder societies were prominent worldwide for centuries after.
