    I think you're right.

I think we're so used to hyping the team when we haven't been good, it just kinda feels like another season this year but we've made some really nice moves. Do you know how Butler did against Hopkins?

i think if most of our CBs can stay in man we can afford to just like Cyp stay in a zone, good pass rushers will also cover up for Cyp a little bit as well.

To go from practically the worst secondary a few years ago to what should be top 10 this year, possibly top 5 is pretty impressive.

Really good. This is the best DB unit we've ever had in Tennessee. Ryan, Butler, Byard & Adoree is a great top 4. Sims and Cyprien can play as well. I like Cyp more than most on here. Think he's a nice change of pace from the skillset we get from the other top DBs.

Meanwhile back in the real world....

From pff on adjusted qb rating which Mariota ranked 7th by the way
-Mariota had the largest positive differential of any quarterback on this list (+13.6) and jumped a whopping 17 spots in our rankings, from second-worst to seventh-best. This was primarily influenced by the fact that Mariota had two more interceptions than turnover-worthy throws and that three of his big-time throws were dropped by receivers

This is from Cian Fahey's presnap reads
    -
Quarterbacks who threw more interceptions than Marcus Mariota last season: 1.

Quarterbacks who threw more interceptable passes than Mariota last season: 26.

Mariota’s 2017 season was unlike any from recent times. He threw 16 interceptions but only 14 interceptable passes. How was that possible? An incredible 13 of his 14 interceptable passes were caught, 92.9 percent, the highest rate in the league by a large distance. On top of that, he had three interceptions that weren’t his fault, non-quarterback interceptions which aren’t included in the interceptable pass total.

Compare Mariota’s season to a quarterback close to the league average. An Andy Dalton for example. Dalton had 10 of his 32 interceptable passes caught. Russell Wilson had exactly the same numbers. Kirk Cousins threw 15 more interceptable passes than Mariota but had four fewer caught. If Mariota was as lucky as Derek Carr with with his turnovers last year, he’d have only thrown five all season long.

The Titans quarterback didn’t have an interception problem. He had a luck problem. He had a supporting cast problem and a coaching staff problem.
