    I'm thinking the same thing. No way he isn't worth having around even as a backup.

    I'd agree. I was really surprised to see this. I wouldn't be surprised if an injury or positive drug test/suspension popped up soon.

    Maybe his contract was just overvalued. Either that, or maybe they're going tackle in round one. Strange time to cut him though.

    He got cut because he doesn't help them. He could come back maybe, but I don't think he will.

    At this time last year I would have said that I'd take him over Kropog or Otto in a heartbeat. I'd certainly be happy to see him come back and have those three competing for our backup spots through the offseason.

    Then again, it's hard to judge backup linemen (for me, at least), so I'll defer and see what happens.

    the coaches apparently didn't think either kropog or otto were ready to play last year since leroy harris was the first off the bench when dave stewart went down, even though harris hadn't played tackle since high school.

    does any of that mean they feel that way with an off-season under their belts? maybe not, but it doesn't inspire my confidence.
