If you are using it for basic functions there is no point getting a MAC. It's a waste of money (for the same thing) and it has a painful learning curve if you've never used one.

why do people think Mac's have a painful learning curve ?
    that's a ridiculous statement

open Mail - enter your email address = done
    open Safari =done
open iTunes - Add to Library = done
    it's VERRRRRY basic

I'm really curious to hear what "learning curve" switchers encounter

  5. I'd say it's about the same learning curve as switching from XP to Windows 7.

    No right mouse button.
Closing Apps from the top of screen.
Different location for File, Edit etc.
Different keyboard layout with Command used instead of control.

It's far from a ridiculous statement.

    Not really.

    MACs do things differently.
Windows XP to 7 just has a different lay out. It's not as if it is missing a right button, or has a different keyboard layout.

there is a right click (2 fingers on the trackpad + click) - multi-gesture FTW, the new trackpads can be setup where right click is any click on the right side of the pad
hitting the red button on the left of the pane or simply Command Q
File , Edit, etc.. is at the top of ever single screen - always
Command is prominently on each side of the space bar

    real hard
