That's why I'm bashing the team as a whole. MM8 can't do it all.

 

Anyone know how many times Gabbert was sacked?

 

Not sure, but he does have a much better sack % vs pressure than Mariota because he gets the ball out sooner.

Mariota's is 11% which is one of the worst in the league, I believe.

Gabbert's is 6.

 

Colts had 5 sacks total. I know 4 were Mariota, not sure if the one that knocked him out was the 5th or Gabby got sacked. I gave up watching when Gabby trotted out for the second half.

 

Yeah Mariota had 4, so Gabbert took 1 sack in more time played than Mariota took 4. So the o-line being the reason Mariota is getting sacked isn't quite the problem.

 

Thats a very high level way to look at things, when there's so many other factors at play;

- Effort of the lineman
- Who the defense trot out in what was essentially garbage time
- Plays called

And many more.

 

Mariota and Gabbert suck in the pocket for two completely different reasons. Gabbert is too scared of getting big, while Mariota will go out of his way to get hit.

 

Yes essentially the DL pinning their ears back and playing straight pass rush while Gabby was in should’ve skewed things in Flota’s favor, but alas. It did not
