They not be talking....they be texting like heck though......LOL
Smells like gamesmanship here. Everyone trying to drive down Clowneys cost.
The market has decided....he's not worth more than 10/12 million. That said, if a team gives in and drops 18 million on a long term deal, then they would be taking a big risk. At this point you would need to conclude, and taking into consideration that at least 7 general managers have looked into Clowney and are not willing to pay....his best years are behind him because of issues with chronic injuries. Tennessee offered 10 million 1 year deal for him to prove otherwise....he's desperately trying to cash in, however that boat has sailed.
For those of you that care....which is probably getting less and less
Mike Vrabel on Jadeveon Clowney: Nothing off the table, nothing on the table - ProFootballTalk
Vrabel is the king of saying a lot while saying absolutely nothing.
Seems like that's what the entire Clowney FA has been
Thats a lot of coaches tho. Very few open and honest coaches around. Bruce Arians is probably the only straight shooter in the NFL that tells it like it is. And he has no connections to the Patriots, unlike Vrabel over here talking us in circles.
But he sometimes hints at the truth. Like going into FA he spoke about getting younger and faster. And what did we do, cut vets not living up to their deals and drafted faster guys to replace them.
It just isn't good strategy to speak candidly as a coach. Especially concerning personnel moves that may or may not happen.
He could have said" Maybe, maybe not.
If CLowney doesn’t sign here then this thread was all for nothing. Just enddddd it already
