When his job was on the line and green was coming back it seemed he had a jump in his step ...

Today when talk is there cutting his ass next year ..you see him today

hits the hole , seams confident ...making a push for extra yards ...to bad we cant see this all the time

The deal is that CJ would be seen as the best RB in the NFL if run under say a Chip Kelly scheme or something like that. The way our O is set up we are not going to produce like that though.

Johnson counts 10 million dollars against the salary cap next season and only 4 million of that is what's left of his signing bonus. It would cost us 4 million to cut CJ which would net us 6 million in cap room.

It would cost us 6 million to cut him saving us 4. Not worth it to me. His potential as we saw today is too good. We just need to figure out how to get him like that all year.

Just saw a bunch of Jim Wyatt tweets. Good stuff, but on my phone and can't link them all, hopefully someone can. Says not to be so sure that we cut cj. If anyone would have inside info, it would be him.

FWIW a KO is far from the worst thing a batter can do

Hitting into the DP/TP is the worst

A KO usually leaves the situation the same for the following batter

Having said that :cj: sucks and I hope he is playing semi-pro in Huntsville next year

If he has 4 million left on his signing bonus how does it cost us 6? The cap hit of a cut player is the signing bonus which is broken up over 5 years. After a player is cut his signing bonus accelerates and any guaranteed money left counts against the cap.

Johnson is owed 2 million in 2014 and 2015 as part of his 13 million dollar signing bonus but that is all the guaranteed money he has left on his contract. So how does cutting him cost us 6 million dollars?

Im not sure what letting :cj: walk will cost in CAP, but I know whatever bonus from future years he has already been paid for rolls forward into the current season (2014)
