  4. It's not an "excuse". It's a factually proven explanation.

No. It's an excuse. It's like saying you ran out of gas, and that's why you're late for work. Sure, it may have happened, but when you're the reason it happened. It's an excuse.
When you begin reaching and digging for explanations as to why a player didn't do good and every other player at his position did, you're looking for excuses. First it was the o-line, now it's lack of playing time, yadda yadda yadda.

Fact is, on average: They made more of their opportunities than Chris Henry did. No excuses.

  6. So you are suggesting that if a good RB in college isn't successful because he plays with a weak supporting cast around him, it's merely an excuse rather than a reason for his lack of production?

If that's so, then explain why there are so many cases of the exact opposite, when a team with tons of great talent has a RB who puts up great stats yet is a complete bust in the NFL. Was that surrounding talent in college a reason for his success, or merely an excuse for his being overrated?

No, they actually made less of their opportunities than Henry did when playing against the same defenses...

So are you telling me Lawrence Phillips, Blair Thomas, Ki-Jana Carter, and Curtis Enis weren't great NFL players?

You've got far more examples of good college backs being good nfl backs than you do of crappy college backs being good nfl backs.
And you know this. But everyone wants to play the Willie Parker card as if it happens very often.

  9. So what if it doesn't happen very often? It does happen. Willie Parker, Priest Holmes, and Terrell Davis are just the best 3 examples.

But Henry is different from those 3 guys because he wasn't a late pick or undrafted. He was a 2nd round pick, and lots of teams apparently had him around that high on their draft boards. He could still end up being a bust, but the fact that so many teams thought he was that good just goes to prove that he wasn't the primary reason his stats were nonexistent at Arizona. His QB was terrible, so was his OLine, and he has been behind other RBs all of his playing career (including HS). There's only so much 1 RB can do when it's a team sport.
