How does the new rule of cap roll over change the way that you manage your cap?

We are in the first year of a new coaching staff and we do not have a sure fire franchise QB yet. To me this is the perfect year to not spend to the cap limit and try and roll money over into next year. We give the coaching staff a chance to see how our players adapt to the new system.

Also I think you bargain shop in FA to try and fill voids and create competition. So at RT bring in a cheap vet, a rookie, and keep Stewart. Bring them into camp and create competition. If Stewart isn't head and shoulders above the other guys then you cut him and roll his 6mil into next yr. Same thing goes for other guys in their final yr or with significant contracts. Bring CJ to camp and if he doesn't just blow you away then cut him.

In the past it didn't help you to not spend to the cap maximum, but now depending on your teams situation you can plan ahead and push money forward.

It is a way to almost force yourself to save money and roll it over into the next year. If we cut all of them now then you just know that we will over pay for some vet. Force yourself to bargain hunt.

I have found this site to be a lot of fun: http://overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Team=Titans&Year=2014

And if you want to play around a bit try the cap calculator: http://overthecap.com/calculator/?Team=Titans

Really shows where the money goes and lets you try theoretical roster moves.
