Can we make the playoffs with Young at QB?

    While writing in another post, I got to thinking about something I brought up about our QB situation. Most people think the Titans are a sure thing for the playoffs this year. I am one of them. We have one of the top O-Lines in the NFL. We have Smash & Clash and a big-man in Hall. A stud packed D-Line. Some possible studs in Britt, Cook and Ringer. Our secondary has 2008 Pro Bowlers in it and probably some 2009s. We have a steady QB but, what happens if we lose Collins? The Titans are a "run first offense". It's easy to hand the ball off and let someone else pound it out especially with Smash & Clash and the Marine in the backfield. We went to the playoffs last year without much of a passing threat. This year we've beafed up our WR situation. Can we make the playoffs with Young at QB? Are we still a sure thing as far as the playoffs are concerned?

    we are a run first type of offense so if young did get put in the defense's would adjust and play close play run defense so VY would have to beat them with his arm. not that its horrible but it isnt the best. hopefully a year off helps him

    No way of knowing.

    If he replaced KFC as the starter VY fans would be ecstatic to see him play but I think more fans would severely lower their play off expectations.

    We are going to lose KFC at some point and Young will get a few starts. I am certain of this as the angel of the lord has appeared to me and shown me what the future holds. :crazy: I have created a thread to this effect. I predict that Young will play above expectations in these starts while KFC is on the mend and once KFC recovers we will have a full blown quarterback controversy on our hands.

    people need to remember that in 2007 we were 6-2 midway with only a 2 point loss to Indy and a 3 point loss to TB from being undefeated
    a crappy coaching effort resulted in a wild card loss to SD

    When Young goes back to pass I get a little scared every time because I'm anticipating a turnover or poorly thrown pass. Young can't play QB in the NFL, it's clear to me.

    We can absolutely win with Vince, we know that for a fact. Now, can we win games with 8-9 defenders in the box forcing him to think about throwing? I hate to admit it but if Vince has time to 'think' were F'ed big time. That's if Vince is the Vince of late 07, early 08. Hopefully the dude has learned a few things since. Being 6'5" he can clearly see over the lineman, and into the secondary. Nothing Doug Flutie about that, but when he's on the move he better keep rolling. Teams know he will take off, therefore always keeping a set of eyes on him. Vince isn't the QB Kerry is, obviously. However he does need to learn how to feel comfortable the way Kerry does while in the pocket. If he can simply get comfy behind one of the best lines in the bizz, then we can ride Vince into the playoffs.

    Everyone points to 2007 when we made the playoffs...

    Go look at the teams we beat that year... they were horrible. Everytime we played a legit team, we lost. We even got stomped by the Bungles.

    I think we could make the playoffs in similar fashion, with Vince, but I don't see us winning.
