I get what he's saying, but it sounds bad, the way he worded it. He doesn't want any ***hole punk players who give up, he wants people who give it their all. Honorable thought. As hard as that is to accomplish with a typical group of 18 year olds. It just comes off as "We can't get 5 star recruits, so we're going to get character guys." If at WKU, would have been a totally appropriate thing to say. But not there.

First time @Fry has ever said anything correct about college football! Congrats Sir. Its funny on vol websites, they defend this crap to me end. He has done alot of good at UT, but he is a mediocre coach that says really dumb things. Trys too hard to control the narratives surrounding his team or overcompensates for lack of production on the field. Either way, we probably has two years, unless this season is a disaster and it may very well be. But id still rather be a Vols fan than a bandwagon Alabama fan.
Jones stopped the dumpster fire and has, IMO, handled all the off-field issues in a prompt and fair manner But I dont see him winning an SEC championship
