Buccaneers agreed to terms with CB Alterraun Verner

Jim Wyatt says that the titans offered a deal very similar. Proves again that he wanted to go to a place where he would fit in scheme wise. Doesn't fit into our man coverage very well.

Former player Karlos Dansby decided to play for the Browns and Verner chose to play for Lovie for the same money. Could it be Whisenhunt is not very popular among players?

 

Browns probably offered him a lot more money than us and who knows just how interested we were. Verner just wanted out of Nashville and is a better fit in Tampa.

I'm surprised at the low dollar amount. I guess more teams saw him as a cover-2 style CB. He will thrive in Lovie Smith's system. I compared Verner to Ronde Barber earlier this offseason and now he gets to play where Ronde made his name. I didn't expect us to make a splash today in FA. We will fill in the gaps for cheaper over the coming week.

 

Wonder how he will like facing Drew Brees twice a year?

 

Verner probably didn't want to be around the "Mysterious Locker Room Cancer" anymore.
