I would rather have a veteran C for Locker to adjust to, Someone from FA.

Thats ideal. Continuing that I would want us to go:

DL - Bigger need right now than DE. We got someone in their prime with Whimbley not a Mathis or freeney that is past it.

DE - Could go S here instead. still a need for depth purposes and if Morgan doesn't pan out

S- We need someone to groom for the future

DL - I would go OLB, but I think the key to our last year's draft was focusing on a few pieces instead of trying to fix them all.

    CB -

Wr - lets get someone with some good hands and depth for our core.

    1. C

    4. CB

    6. OLB

    That's how I see it.

I think we go best available dl/db in the first. I wouldn't be disappointed if we got a center though. Those are the biggest areas of need.

This thing about DeCastro playing center is intriguing. He's playing center at Stanford's pro day today and his coaches were saying that he can play any of the interior linemen positions. Maybe that's the answer. Get DeCastro and play him at center. Let Harris and Amano fight for the remaining guard position?

How is CB a bigger need than DT? Right now at corner we have Verner, McCourty, Campbell, Hawkins, and Mouton (who we drafted in the 3rd)

At DT we have: Sean Smith (sucks), Question Marks (Sucks), Klug (excellent at playing the pass, but struggles in our scheme playing the run, he is a rotational guy), Casey (our anchor)... We only have one DT with a solid all around game

Center is the biggest need but the position will be addressed in FA. My draft order would go...

    1. DE (unless Jenkins, Kirkpatrick, or DeCastro fall)
    2. DT (unless Brockers available in 1st then switch)
    3. C/OG (BPA at position)
    4. WR/RB (a playmaker)
    5. S
    6. DL
    7. CB (unless we go CB in 1st then I don't really care)
  8. The Playmaker

Verner- has shown flashes but he's a 2/3 CB right now, everyone loves the guy but as a player he still has a lot of work to do
McCourty- good CB but he still needs to improve, do you trust him as our #1 CB?
    Campbell- not ready
Hawkins- can't comment I don't know much about him, was alright in his short amount of PT
    Mouton- sucks

DL is the bigger need but if a talent like Jenkins or Dre Kirk is there then you have to pull the trigger on that one. We can afford to do that since DL has crazy depth this year.

That's what I'm thinking too. Trade up a few spots and snag him. Very versatile. Don't forget, Fernando Velasco just signed an extension too....he's not a star, but he's been solid.
  10. J Falk

    J Falk Starter

Clearly, both CB and DT are both positions of need right now, but I think that's why we're trying to sign Tracy Porter right now. If we do then we don't have to worry about snagging a corner too early in the draft.
