Big Question is what do we do at quarterback?

I think you got a glimpse of what VY had to suffer through when Lendale is rb. It's a one dimensional team. 2nd half said it all to me. You give VY CJ and one WR, he's better than Collins. VY never had a weapon. Collins did. And Collins did nothing without CJ. That's all I needed to see right there. Nothing against Kerry Collins, but he did not get it done this year. All year we wondered if it was CJ or Collins who made this team better. Now we know.

 

I don't know about that, but I will say this. I wish VY had been out for the final drive. His running would force the defense to consider the run, and that would have given us better shots. Plus, imagine the panic the Ravens would have had when all the sudden VY comes trotting out. He would have given us a better shot in the final drive, IMO.

 

Re-sign Collins, keep Simms, & see how the draft plays out. It can be debated all day, but I don't think VY will ever be the starter on this team again.

There's a slight chance that one of the top QBs (Stafford/Bradford) could fall to the end of the 1st, much like what happened in 2005.

It's not likely that either of them fall, so I'd say we'll take one in rounds 4-6, and see how he pans out.

 

I still think we should have picked Dennis Dixon last year. He was great in college, and he was available really late in the draft. Steelers got a steal, IMO.

I like us being able to be a passing team if we need to.

Keep Simms, Keep Collins trade for a pro bowl WR. we would be Elite.

 

Collins far exceeded what I thought he would do. IMO he is a valuable player, even if he is not your starter. He may have lost a little strength but his accuracy is excellent. You can pick up a DT in the draft if Haynesworth departs. Maybe get a QB in a later round and groom him behind Collins.

 

Ugh, he's like a less talented Vince Young.

Could someone explain this fascination with keeping Chris Simms? The guy is a backup at best.

 

You only say that becasue you know the outcome.

Any coach who pulls a QB in a close play-off game should be shot unless the QB has some bad ints.
