Part of the answer for the better record is real simple. Schedule. We played a weaker schedule. Our defense ended up with decent stats but we had multiple games against par or sub par QBs and rookies. As an example Houston destroyed us 41-7 with Schaub. Remember we couldn't even beat the Jags twice or the Colts (worst team in the NFL) twice. So the team's record was a little inflated at seasons end.

In 2012 the team was not much better overall talent wise but we had injuries. Also, the great Hass played in 8 games and looked at times he couldn't get the ball 20 yards down field. You list Amano and he got hurt before the season started but Velasco wasn't a down grade. And despite Harris getting injured he wasn't exactly dominating anyone when he played. Jake Scott is horrible and no way should have been kept (there is a reason those guys are gone and we now have Levitre and Warmack at OG and drafted another C not to mention signing all new guys). Basically you are mentioning all the problems with the team so how can you argue we should have kept them? Those are the guys that needed to go and a big part of the reason the team wasn't better.

I'll agree Hass had a decent season in 2011 statistically but the guy was horrible at times and was benched for Locker against the Colts.

This is a much better team then the past few years plain and simple. Better depth, better OL, defense should be better and now has a leader. If this team can't have better production this year, then expect bigtime coaching changes, and possibly CJ/Locker to take a hike. I am not saying by any means that they are a playoff team or a superbowl contender, but with all of the positive changes, it is time to put the past 4 years to bed.

I'll break it down easy for you.

Noodle Arm Hass - He was set to make $7+ mil this year, as a backup. What insights would he have given Locker that he hasn't already in the first two years? Fitz is still a servicable backup, provides a different prospective for Locker, and costs a fraction of the price.

Finnegan - He's Top-5 in salary of all non-QBs. That's insane, he's not worth that money. We offered him a fair contract, he followed his lover Jeff and the $$. He wasn't worth that money to play nickle, and that's coming from a huge Finny fan.

Jason Jones - Should of kept him. He was full of injuries & kept switching positions. We moved on with Jurrell Casey, can't hate that.

William Hayes - Another Fisher lover boy.

Jake Scott - He was done. He was old and washed up, he wasn't playing at a high level. So we cut ties with him.

Eugene Amano - One of the worst starting centers in all of the NFL & one of the highest paid. Why would you want him?

LeRoy Harris - Another overrated OL.

All these players were let go for financial reasons + we have better talent available (other than Finny).

LOL, chill dude. You're a noob, we're going to pick on you.

You just love you improper use of parentheses, ellipsis, and caps lock. It's hard to read.

Oh, and your points are stupid. :beerbang:

I am cracking up over here hahahha. Listen, the only person on that list MAYBE that should have stayed was Finnigan. The only reason I say that is because the Safety position was TERRIBLE last season and Griffin alone is a nightmare. Hassleback was a good mentor etc, but he was sliding down and nothing special. As for Jake being rushed?!?!?! It is pretty much the norm to come in and start or contribute when you are a 1st round pick these days. He had good support and obviously they didn't have another option so they wanted to see what the kid could do. This year, he either produces or he is in trouble. He now has a line and weapons galore.
