I don't understand why people are hating on Stop Loss and Jarhead, they're both pretty solid, and weren't supposed to be these big epic war movies with a 200 million dollar budget.

Oh yeah, add Schindler's List, The Pianist and Enemy at the Gates for me.

To their credit, the Grammy's have improved significantly.

The Oscars have usually been solid.

Over the last 20 years they have been pretty on point in the best picture category.

If it wasn't marketed as an epic war movie with a $200 million budget I'm sure I would feel differently. I felt duped watching it. It was mostly just walking around in the desert.

The thin red line is very good in my opinion.

That's fair, but the Gulf War is widely known as the war with very little combat.

Wow that trailer is the complete opposite tone of that movie.

Award-winning director, A-list cast and Kanye West in the trailer will fool you like that.

More like "this Disney movie in 3D ain't really worth winning anything. Sure, the effects are nice, but the movie itself is just pure ****"

A "war movie" that dissapointed me was Iron Sky. The trailer and clips really build up a funny movie with a ton of nazi-jokes (like the series 'Allo 'Allo, but damn that was one big disappointment.

Forgot these-The Enemy Below is great.
The Hill-low budget british film, very well done.
Sergeant York-obviously dated but great movie.
    Starship Troopers-Read the book first.
