Bears deny Titans request to talk to Tice

    I remember Smith talking up Chris Hnery immediately after the pick. He may have been just sugarcoating the pick, but he was absolutely glowing about that guy. No thanks.

    I have written several posts about why i like Tice as OC making several points to that effect. Based on your deep analysis on why you don't like Cam Newton can i assume your dislike of Tice is based on the same superficialities? He's too white and too tall or something like that?

    Tice has a variety of experience. He has coached TEs and the O-line as well as being a head coach. He was significant in the improvement of the Bears running game last year and was significant in the good offenses the Jags had in 06 and 07.

    He would bring the west coach offense here and has some good ideas on how to run the ball against certain defenses.

    I listed Callahan and Tice as good OC hires before the Titans ever expressed interest in them and in both cases their respective teams thought them too valuable to let them talk to us.
