Titans coach Mike Munchak said he believes safety Jordan Babineaux will return to action Thursday in the team’s third preseason game.

But Babineaux, who missed Friday’s game against Tampa Bay with shoulder soreness, said he’s not setting a timetable on his return.

“I’m really not sure (about Thursday’s preseason contest),” Babineaux said. “I’m just kind of day to day. It’s just a matter of how I’m feeling.

“The best thing I can do is make sure I’m getting back at 100 percent. If I do, I’ll have a chance to get back on the field and play at full speed.”

Babineaux said he’s getting treatment six times per day on the shoulder.

He said he can’t recall any particular incident – aside from being an eight-year veteran — that triggered the current soreness, though he did joke that Munchak’s charity bowling event might have been the cause.

“It will be fine and everything should work out,” Babineaux said. “I’m just taking my precautions. It’s no real rush. The urgency is really not here just yet, being that it’s preseason, but it should be ready to go real soon here.”
