Linebacker Akeem Ayers led the Titans in tackles last season, and all offseason had plans of starting fast this year.

Then came an ankle injury in the third preseason game at Cincinnati. Ayers missed the last two games of the preseason, and admitted he wasn’t right at the start of the season.

“Looking back, I was maybe 70 percent” in Week One,’’ Ayers said.

Ayers estimated he’s now around 90 percent. He’s coming off a game against the Chargers when he had a sack, and was active despite playing 34 of 59 snaps.

“Every week I feel it is getting better,’’ Ayers said. “The second week of the season is really the first game I really felt comfortable. And every week I am improving and getting more confidence with the ankle. As each week progresses, I feel like I am getting closer to 100 percent.”
