Arrested Development is Back

AD is probably my favorite sitcom ever. But I haven't had a chance to get into S4 yet. However, I kind of assumed it would be a bit of a letdown. It has reached such cult status and people have been anxiously awaiting its return for nearly a decade, there's just no way it was going to live up to the hype/expectation.

If S4 is even on par with S3, which I consider to easily be the worst of the first 3 (but still very, very good), I'll be extremely shocked. Regardless, I'm just glad to finally have some new episodes to watch.

 

Well I'm three episodes in and it has sucked so bad that I don't feel like continuing.

I will suck it up and finish the season regardless, but it will be a struggle if the rest of the episodes suck as much as the first three.

 

Just keep your head down and power through RSB.

 

Are all of you guys watching the episodes in numerical order? I remember reading something where Mitch Hurwitz was saying you could watch them in any order.

 

I always watch episodes in order. And I'd say that's probably not true. Always a safer bet to watch them in order.

Btw, XO was right. It got a lot better in the fourth episode. Hopefully it continues.

 

Yeah, I'll probably go in order too. I just thought it was a cool concept. IIRC he said you could watch the episodes in any order and not miss anything story-wise, but you might pick up on certain inside jokes that you wouldn't otherwise depending on the order you watch. That's what I love about this show. The comedy is so freaking easy to "get" yet the depth is incredible. They're constantly thinking several episodes ahead.

 

Who's everyone's favorite character BTW? They're all great but for me it's gotta be George Sr. GOB, Tobias and Lucille(1) are up there though. Swear to god, if you could somehow combine my mother and my mother-in-law you'd have Lucille. It's uncanny.
