Beating someone deep is not the same as beating someone at a jump ball.

He's def great at that which is why he's a great red zone guy. Throw the fade and let him go get it.

But if you think we were getting him for a 6th you're out of your freaking mind.

I hate some of these labels we give players. The guy goes up and gets the football and is a big red zone threat. He would have helped this team out substantially. We need to focus on getting good football players instead of these ninche players.

He beat a few players there, and no I didn't think we were going to get him.

I never said he wouldn't help, but for 1) he wasn't taking a payout and I don't think he's worth 6 million a year and 2) on the 49ers were going to get that bargain.

So I don't really see the point in all this uproar. It's like getting pissed at the hot girl for saying no to going to the prom with you when you never really had a chance.

And what would acquiring him have accomplished for one single season at the rate of 6 mil?

I agree, don't see the uproar.

Already mentioned this in another thread.

He's 33 years old and not a vertical threat anymore. It's a GREAT deal for SF since it'll certainly help them make another deep post-season run this coming year. I knew Baltimore couldn't afford him this year. Flacco is gonna cost them a TON of players -- Boldin, Reed, Cary Williams & that LB as well. Plus Ray Lewis retired. Ravens won't even make the playoffs this season.

Yah doesn't matter what pick they gave, it's about the 6 million dollar price tag he comes with. No way titans use a third of their cap space on a 33 year old 1 year rental wr

Exactly. If the 49ers don't give up a pick he gets cut. So it i good for the 49ers if they just want to rent him for a year at 6 mil. Good move by them. If we had made that move we would be stupid since we have WRs with equal or better ability anyway. No point in wasting money.
