Report is that he is "close to throwing a football again" ... what ever "close" means.

He had surgery 17 months ago and still isn't throwing... I have a hard time believing he will ever be the same

Still on Nerf balls I guess?

What kind of recovery program takes 17 months to throw a football?

    The Colts are hiding something.

Then 1 month into the season he starts showing up on the injury report every week.

    Later that season:

As soon as the season ends he goes to get surgery

Of course we all remember the long drawn out saga of the Colts saying Luck would be ready by camp ... Then ready by week 1 ... Then ready before week 6 (since they didn't PUP him).

He finally practices in Oct 2017. Colts trot him out infront of the media to watch him throw (no one had seen him throw since the end of 2016). Presumably this is the 1st time he threw since surgery, cause the Colts immediately shut him down after he reported soreness.

He was advised to stop throwing for 2-3 months and focus on rehab (mind you this is already 9 months after his surgery with little to no throwing) ... Now that 2-3 months has turned into 8 months, and he is still not throwing.

Also don't forget his trips to Europe to get treatment during this time ... I'm sure that was all part of the plan as well.

But of course Colts say he is "close" and expect him back by week 1

What’s been happening with Andrew Luck?

According to luck, the problem started week 3 2015 against the Titans. But yet he played basically 2 full seasons before actually missing time. If he ignored his shoulder for 2 years, he might have done irreversible damage during that time

Luck was a great competitor but there is no way I can see him coming back from this type of injury. He will make a come back but this will be stuck in his head. He will be preoccoupied with protecting himself. That will take away from his ability to make those gallant game winning throws he is known for.

Luck was already a sub 60% career passer before the injury.
