Anybody have idea on why our defensive unit seemed to have all the calls going against us early in the game? It seemed like both teams were playing hard, going after each other, plenty of pushing/shoving going on, helmet grabbing, etc,.... but it seemed like so many of the calls were going against the Titans early on. Are the officials reacting more to "jawing" going on that what actually happens sometimes?

The blow to helmet call at the end made up for a bunch of it, but so many penalties going against us earlier seemed to put us in a hole early on. In particular I thought the Hope personal foul penalty on third down early on changed the game - kept our guys on the field - and really didn't see what it was all about.

Games about this are all about wearing down defenses, and I was worried we were never going to get to the point where the Ravens started to run out of gas.

Appreciate thoughts. Agree/disagree? Was the D coming unglued, or were so many calls going against us a major contributor?

The refs are going to make questionable calls. When they do this, they have to "give back" later in the game.

Ask any pro-sports ref, and he'll let you in on that little secret.

Most of it (over the season, not today), is just Tony Brown going offsides or encroaching 2-3 times a game...

yeah, that's something that drives me insane. i understand washburn is willing to give some slack because he'll trade a five yarder here or there if it means we'll get more sacks, but if you're a DT you're RIGHT OVER THE BALL. there is no reason to listen to the count.

i hv no idea wat ur saying...refs in the nfl r based on plays...or rather...they r graded on every play....either correct or wrong

example...lets say ref calls a play wrong....than calls nother one wrong to try to 'even it out' as ur saying...hell get stait up 2 mistaks for that....n these mistakes r critical...i think 1 ref lost his belive it or not elite status ....there was an article taht came out....this season...bout some ref. eiter way wat ur sayin is totally wrong...they for their money's the game based on every play, indepenedent from what happened previously.
