Bowman won't make the team because he does not know the system. Davis could because he knows it. It's as simple as that.

I don't understand why people want to be rid of Davis. If you believe what many coaches have said in the past, there is a tremendous jump from the rookie to second year at the WR position.

If anything, I would suspect he has a better shot to make the team over P. Williams who hasn't shown anything yet.

Time to come back to reality.

The guy has a contract in the CFL. They aren't going to just release him so some NFL team can bring him in (and then probably cut him). The earliest we could get him would probably be next season, unless some kind of deal was reached.

TJ I don't think we should neccesarily get rid of him for sucking last year... Its just that the only thing that he brought last year was ST (which wasn't overall that good). We drafted 2 returners, and signed a ST specialist. He's been replaced :hmm:

This is what training camp and pre-season are for though. I would think it is make or break for C.Davis.. His spot shouldn't be guaranteed.

Only 3 WR's on the team have a guaranteed spot and playing time. The reason why I added playing time is because of what happened to Paul Williams. Hawkins might be going under the same process.

I'd replace Paul Williams with A-Bowman in a heartbeat. Guy's stats in college were similar to Calvin Johnson.
BUT since his combine wasn't as good, there's no hype? I really don't get the NFL. It's like the guys in charge are a bunch of know-nothings that have this kid mentality that a good 40 time tells all, when we see every year that it's the most overrated number in sports. (other than number 23. The cleveland version. :))

Bowman seems like a T.O. clone. Sometimes you've gotta deal with the "problems" to get a good player. Though, I'm not sure what he did that was sooo bad. Manningham the same way. He lied about smoking marijuana? Oh no! He did something that 95% of teenagers/college students have done.

I would gladly take him over the williams brothers bust machine paul and mike.

By the way the tennessean the other day the was doing a position by position analysis and they said that mike williams was out of shape. Time to clean out the locker?

For the life of me i can't see how a WR with big time numbers at a major level gets passed over in the draft. DJ hall did something that neither keenan burton or earl bennett did the last 2 seasons. He had over 1000 yards playing with a nobody QB. And he doesn't get drafted? He's a giant now i guess we were too dumb to even sign him as a FA.

Both bowman and hall had back to back 1000+ yard seasons. Arrington the michigan #2 was drafted in the 7th rd. I would take both over him. Courtney taylor the seahawks 6th rd pick from auburn last year was a lessor prospect.

Courtney taylor himself would tell you dj was the better player his numbers were sure better. In the 7th rd teams can take chances on a player and we have to wonder how many of those 7th rd picks won't even play in the nfl.

Actually Seattle loves Courtney Taylor. With Hackett gone and someone else is injured he might start. He's the all-time leader in rec. at Auburn.

Hall has had major injuries at Bama. Even though he's good he's in that pool of players that have little chance.
