I don't think anybody questions the fact that Manning would be an upgrade at the QB position right now. The concern is the future. We spent the #8 pick on Locker. Will we sit him for three more years behind Manning? Locker's contract will be up by then and then what? Yes, having Manning would be nice. But it does not guarantee us a SB win and it might hurt us down the road. There are so many needs the Titans currently have. QB is not one of them unless he also plays on defenses and rushes the passer. If you really think Bud wants Peyton for competitive reasons I would think again. He wants Peyton because that means revenue and publicity to the franchise first and foremost.
