I don't mean so much as Collins' playing style, but the fact that he was a retread who was well past his prime, like Hasselbeck, and Fitzpatrick really never even had a prime. The "Mentor" thing is extremely played out, and quite frankly, it's BS. Favre is not the reason for Rodgers' success any more than Flutie was the reason for Brees' success.

I do have a stylistic issue with the VY/Locker type. A person made of stone who plays like they do would be hurt quickly. It doesn't last. I would prefer to have a good QB here that lasts for more than 5 seasons max.

At this point, It looks like Johnny Football could be one of the best available quarterbacks when we pick. If that's how it pans out then perhaps this season of futility was worth it. Personally I'm from Baylor so I haven't been a fan of his but one thing I've learned about him: Never bet against him. I think with him as starter and locker as the back up, the titans will finally have solidified the position. Plus manziel can challenge locker personally to be more of a winner. In other words part of being a winner is not subjecting yourself to catastrophic hits (year after year).

In early 2006 I would have said the exact same thing about Vince Young.

Only difference, is we already know that JM is a little %#!^head, it took us awhile to figure that out about VY.
